Helping businesses in the EU become more energy efficient across their industrial water processes while building benchmarking tools for each sector.

Energy Water logo

The EnergyWater project aims to improve energy efficiency in water processes across industrial and manufacturing sectors in Europe by providing advice, information and online tools to individual companies.

This European-wide project supports Energy Managers within the industrial / manufacturing sectors through the Energy Management Self-Assessment (EMSA) web tool and the Energy Angels Network.

Energy Management Self-Assessment (EMSA) Tool

The Energy Management Self-Assessment (EMSA) website is a free tool for companies to self-assess the efficiency of their water processes and receive recommendations to improve energy performance. The EMSA tool is anonymous and will allow companies to benchmark themselves against similar European companies.

Registering your interest in the EMSA tool will connect you with energy experts within the EnergyWater at Carbon Trust who will:

  • Introduce you to the tool
  • Help with any initial data entry
  • Provide quick feedback on your results
  • Follow up advice via a free phone consultation with an energy expert
  • Ensure your data remains anonymous and contributes to the EU-wide benchmarking exercise
  • Give you access to the EMSA tool so you can benchmark yourself against similar European companies in your sector

Energy Angel

Energy Angels Network

The Energy Angels network is a platform for companies or individual professionals working in the field of energy efficiency (ESCOs, research centres, energy auditors, technology suppliers, etc.) to support and implement energy efficiency improvements in water processes.

The network will improve the availability of skilled energy auditors and energy managers as well as suppliers and funders. Energy Angels will also help companies apply the EMSA web tool, understand its results, suggest recommendations and offer implementation support.

If you are interested in joining the Energy Angels Network, sign up to join

We will contact interested applicants with further details and training for use of the EMSA web tool.
